Celebrity Death Roundup (4/7/98)

Famous people continue to drop like flies, filling the trophy case of undead soulsucker Bob Hope.

First, we mourn the passing of Rob Pilatus, who, depending on your outlook, was either Milli or Vanilli, and who finally, after years of failed attempts, managed to overdose on booze and drugs.

Grammy voters were overheard remarking, "One down, one to go", presumably before the last remnant of their "Best New Artist" fiasco slips into the great beyond.

In a related story, former Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth is still alive.

Moving on to artists who I actually own records by, country star Tammy Wynette passed away yesterday during a nap, apparently of a blood clot. Those of you who find country music abhorrent may remember Tammy hooking up with the KLF for the "Stand By The Jams" remix of "Justified and Ancient", which by its very existence makes Tammy about 500 times cooler than Rob Pilatus and Pat Boone put together.

In a related story, complete and utter moron and heavy metal panderer Pat Boone is still alive. But dontcha wish he wasn't?
