Osgoode's Notes
Wednesday, April 6, 1892
Two gentlemen delivered the specimen to my laboratory today. It is dead, but in very good condition. Its assumed name, in life, was David Barnett. It posed as a local business owner in life, and was captured by agents in Springfield. It killed two agents during his capture. The agents had to kill it, and were disciplined severely for this infraction.
I would have preferred to have performed a vivisection on it, but the body was delivered iced and fresh, with all fluids intact. I began a standard dissection, amazed at the musculature. The agents stated that it had weighed in excess of 600 pounds during capture, but the corpus weighed a mere 150 ponds in extremis.
Notes on dissection follow, pages marked 41, 42, 43, and 44.

Formula 8B was distilled today. It was administered to the rat, which experienced prodigious growth, but no transformation was evident. The growth eventually killed the specimen, which weighed in excess of 50 pounds in morte. Formula 8B will be redistilled and used for growth experiments.

After the successful distillation of Formula 12A today, I experimented on a local stray feline, as my supply of experimental animals has all but been terminated by the Convocation. I'm not interested in playing their politics anymore. I can most certainly accomplish this project myself.
The cat, after awakening, exhibited a marked change in behavior. It became violent, preternaturally strong, and its nail structure was profoundly altered. The nails took on the qualities and density of solid steel.

This specimen will be trained, for its strength, agility, and senses all seem to be enhanced. It will be a potent servant. I have already begun training it, by withholding food and water.

Formula 34D gives the best results I have seen thus far. The two rats upon which I have administered the potion became feral, increased in mass 250%, and immediately attacked the fresh meat thrown in their cage. They seem to have a definite taste for human flesh.

Formula 38D is the final decantation. With one dose, I could change a human into a beast of unimaginable strength and animal cunning. Now, the only remaining task is to find a specimen. The city is full of released convicts, devoid of hope for anything better in this life. One of these hopeless, empty souls will be the pinnacle of my research. Then, perhaps, all will be corrected, and I will be accepted into the ranks of the Controllers
