Bush went to the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia to deliver an address demanding that Congress pass into law police-state provisions such as those contained in the VICTORY Act. Bush hailed the USA PATRIOT Act and called for the executive branch to be able to use "administrative subpoenas" such as those called in the VICTORY Act. Bush also yesterday called for the death penalty in terrorism crimes and the suspension of bail for terror suspects. Please recall how loose the definition of a 'terrorist' already is, and that plans exist to render it even broader, as per the leaked "PATRIOT II" aka Domestic Security Enhancement Act which leaked out in January and the VICTORY Act, which redefines most drug offenses as 'narco-terrorism' offenses.

Purportedly appearing on video for the first time in more than a year, nearly two, 'OBL' said scary terror stuff, threatening to bury Americans, blah blah blah. Are you scared? NEW YORK — A judge ruled yesterday that the hijacking and crashing of jetliners was a "foreseeable risk," opening the door to hundreds of September 11 lawsuits against the aviation industry.
U.S. District Judge Alvin Hellerstein said negligent security screening might have contributed to the deaths of 3,000 people in the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon and the crash of a hijacked plane in Pennsylvania. . .
The defendants — American and United airlines, the Boeing Co. and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey — had sought dismissal of the lawsuits, saying they had no duty to anticipate and guard against deliberate, suicidal aircraft crashes and that any potential negligence on their part did not cause deaths and injuries. . .
Dec. 22 is the last day families may apply to the compensation fund, created by Congress to provide aid to the families of those killed or injured in the attacks, and to protect the aviation industry from crippling litigation.
About 2,275 compensation fund claims have been filed. Roughly 1,700 eligible families have not decided whether to enroll with the fund or file a lawsuit.
The average fund payout has been about $1.5 million, with the highest award $6.8 million. The minimum payout is $250,000.
American Airlines spokesman Todd Burke said the airline would appeal the ruling. . . .
Boeing spokesman Ken Mercer said the jet manufacturer also would appeal. . . .
Keith S. Franz, a Baltimore lawyer representing seven family members of those killed at the Pentagon and two who were severely injured, said the ruling probably would lead some people to decide to sue. . . As a matter of fact, the Red Cross has sought more and more information from the families that has only served to stall their access to funds that would cover their mounting bills.
Thus, Red Cross delays have in effect thrown needy families into the waiting arms of U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft and Kenneth Feinberg while also serving to keep the government of the United States out of the courtroom via what Mariani originally termed "the Feinberg hush fund."
Strangely, while Mr. Feinberg has maintained total control over fund settlements, he allowed the Red Cross to extend payments in the millions from these donations to displaced renters and homeowners who did not even lose a family member, and also to Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) workers, all of whom should have been paid from FEMA's well-established and budgeted funds approved by Congress.
In other words, the Red Cross allowed the U.S. government to use Red Cross funds specifically donated to the families who lost their loved ones, said funds given to other parties, which only helped to extend and intensify the financial difficulties of victims family members, as many just decided to give up and submit to Kenneth Feinberg's fund while also absolving the government of the United States of all future accountability.
It had been known as early as 1996 that there were plans to hit Washington targets with aeroplanes. Then in 1999 a US national intelligence council report noted that "al-Qaida suicide bombers could crash-land an aircraft packed with high explosives into the Pentagon, the headquarters of the CIA, or the White House".
Fifteen of the 9/11 hijackers obtained their visas in Saudi Arabia. Michael Springman, the former head of the American visa bureau in Jeddah, has stated that since 1987 the CIA had been illicitly issuing visas to unqualified applicants from the Middle East and bringing them to the US for training in terrorism for the Afghan war in collaboration with Bin Laden (BBC, November 6 2001). It seems this operation continued after the Afghan war for other purposes. It is also reported that five of the hijackers received training at secure US military installations in the 1990s (Newsweek, September 15 2001). [...] . . . there was such slow reaction on September 11 itself. The first hijacking was suspected at not later than 8.20am, and the last hijacked aircraft crashed in Pennsylvania at 10.06am. Not a single fighter plane was scrambled to investigate from the US Andrews airforce base, just 10 miles from Washington DC, until after the third plane had hit the Pentagon at 9.38 am. Why not? There were standard FAA intercept procedures for hijacked aircraft before 9/11. Between September 2000 and June 2001 the US military launched fighter aircraft on 67 occasions to chase suspicious aircraft (AP, August 13 2002). It is a US legal requirement that once an aircraft has moved significantly off its flight plan, fighter planes are sent up to investigate.
Was this inaction simply the result of key people disregarding, or being ignorant of, the evidence? Or could US air security operations have been deliberately stood down on September 11? If so, why, and on whose authority? The former US federal crimes prosecutor, John Loftus, has said: "The information provided by European intelligence services prior to 9/11 was so extensive that it is no longer possible for either the CIA or FBI to assert a defence of incompetence."

This piece does a good job raising questions about what happened on Spetember 11, 2001. As such observations become more and more commonplace in Europe, it will become all the more necessary to point to the tendrils of control that reach from European finance to pull the strings of the US government in manufacturing such events.
New footage of the WTC planes has been released. Apparently the man who made the video didn't realise what he had. The New York Times has released a redacted version of the footage, but one of the frames is very intriguing. . . . [Compiled comments]
"Something is definitely there that was not built by the manufacturer." ... "I have a few thoughts about that photo. 1. The bright spot you see inthe photo is a reflection of a (infrared targeting laser). The camera that was used to take that photo is most likely sensitive to infrared radiation. Judging by the size of the beams (spot) I would quess the laser was stationed about 5 or 7 miles away from the WTC. The object on the underside of the plane maybe a combination missile pod/ guidance system. I've worked with lasers for over 25 years."
Maybe it's just me, but looking at these pictures and the shots from the Naudet footage, the first plane looks too small to be a Boeing 767.
TOTAL INFORMATION ANALYSIS: Very interesting. The Naudet "9/11" documentary that aired on CBS and is available on DVD is defintely worth checking out. That wasn't no Boeing airliner in the first collision. Watch the footage carefully of the first plane. Hard to tell whether that spot of light is a flash or something else. That thing mounted on the bottom of Boeing definitely does appear to be more than a photo/digital artifact if you study the footage.
A former federal prosecutor who defended the U.S. government in a lawsuit filed by surviving Branch Davidians was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities said.
A police officer checking on an abandoned vehicle found the body of former U.S. Attorney J. Michael Bradford shortly before 7 p.m. Tuesday. . . .
He said the officer found the body and a shotgun about 75 feet from the car. Cain said it appears the gunshot wound to the head was self-inflicted. . .
Cain said Bradford had some business affairs and other things, including a note, left behind that indicated that he planned to kill himself. Cain did not know what was in the note.
