EXCLUSIVE!!
A source who was at BBI offices yesterday witnessed the dismantling of the Satellite of Love, as staff cleaned out their offices. Best Brains is preparing to auction off old props and bits of the set within the next few months.
"I knew something was missing when we went in the studio," the source said.
The auction will probably be held online at Ebay.

The overlords in question this time are the ones controlling The Sci-Fi Channel and USA Networks. Barry Diller and his goons have run off the other Barry, Barry Schulman, and the new folks are more interested in buying Lycos than producing quality programming.
Best Brains, Inc. believes there is little or no chance that The Sci-Fi Channel will change their minds, and SFC's eagerness to issue a press release proclaiming the series dead and buried tends to confirm that suspicion.
Polite letters to SFC won't hurt anything, but I would strongly recommend against needlessly antagonizing a network that still has a season's worth of MST episodes to air. BBI itself will still remain in business, even if the set is broken down as it was after Comedy Central cut Mike and the 'bots loose.
Sci-Fi Channel holds the exclusive rights to Mystery Science Theater through mid-2001. As of March 1, no other network has contacted BBI about adding the Peabody-award winning series to their schedule. But should another channel express interest in the show, SFC shouldn't have as much trouble releasing BBI from that clause as Comedy Central did.
Now, any good save-our-show campaign has at its core LETTER-WRITING. As noted above, Best Brains isn't talking to anyone for now, but you can click here for information on MST's prospective new homes.
