Comedy Central and Mystery Science Theater 3000 are in "round two" of negotiations to keep some form of the series on the cable channel. After canceling an eighth season, network executives met with MST3K's producers and laid out proposals for future projects. Among them: the 'bots would cut up old sitcoms and could be involved in Comedy Central's political coverage. Producer Jim Mallon sent back a counterproposal suggesting reviews of old school health films. "We want to stay in business," he says.
