Rumors of Mystery Science Theater 3000's death are greatly exaggerated. Although Comedy Central has elected not to renew its agreement with Best Brains, Inc. for the production of additional episodes, we will present five brand new episodes of the series beginning in February and continue to air the 126 episodes in our library throughout the remainder of 1996. Additionally, we hope to work with Best Brains on other programming ideas in the future.

MST3K was Comedy Central's first breakthrough original program and we are extremely proud of it. However, MST3K's viewership has steadily declined despite schedule revisions, programming stunts and an extremely loyal and vocal fan club. Most successful series do not go 126 episodes and 7 years as MST3K has. The series' success is a tribute to the talents of the Best Brains team and the enthusiasm of its audience.

We hope you'll enjoy the series throughout 1996 together with other breakthrough original programming currently in development. Enjoy the ride and please wear a helmet.

Chris
