Titans Okay, I've never been a big Soap Opera fan. Something about the repetitive dialogue and the ridiculous plots just doesn't jibe with me. Not that I don't enjoy a silly continuing story, but to me the typical daytime soap opera just doesn't cut it for me. I've tried once and again to watch a daytime soap, and I just can't pull it off. Passions has kept my interest for a while now, just because it's so ridiculous. This is a soap opera that has done parodies (or homage's if you will) of The Matrix, Carrie, and had two characters trapped in a shed surrounded by poisonous snakes that were magically created out of sticks of wood. (Not to mention the ever changing Kay. It reminds me of the drummers from Spinal Tap.) Basically, my position is this: I can't watch a soap, unless they are on a space station or killing vampires or something similar. However, I think I'm going to be breaking my own rules this season. Aaron Spelling is bringing back the Dynasty-style soap opera in a big way with Titans. Victoria Principal is one of the stars, and who doesn't like to watch one of the big 80s soap divas kick some ass? Add in Yasmine Bleeth and Casper Van Dien for pure eye candy, and I think you've got a winner. All we need is a real Alexis character... Oh, did I mention that rumors are spreading that Spelling is talking to Joan Collins about joining the show? And not only joining the show, but reprising her role as Alexis Carrington Colby Kane Corely Unks E. Kelley Rayburn? Can you imagine it? Are you shaking? I'm shaking. Are you shaking? Wednesday nights at 8 Eastern. I'm even choosing it over Bette. |
